CANCER SURVIVOR CONDUCTS FUNDRAISING CONCERT FOR CANCER RESEARCH
On June 8th at Aranmore Catholic College in Leederville, the Born To Sing Choirs and Brunswick Women’s Choir (from Melbourne) will present a concert – CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE – a collection of songs to uplift your spirit! Net proceeds will be donated to FIONA STANLEY Hospital Medical Oncology Research Fund and Brightwater Care Group (for Aged Care & Disability Support).
Born To Sing, who performed sell out concerts at the recent Perth Fringe Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, will be conducted by Martin Meader who was Co-Executive Producer of the feature film, Paradise Road which starred Glenn Close & Cate Blanchett. Meader, who has just survived a two year battle with Stage 4, colo-rectal cancer, has been conducting Born To Sing since 2008. Over the years, the choirs have raised over $225,000 for charitable causes and recently performed three sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Can You Feel The Love concert is close to Meader’s heart as he credits his survival not only to the care by the wonderful medical teams at Fiona Stanley Hospital but also to the support and singing by all the members of his choirs and the Perth choir community.
