The Giovanni Consort melds the zest and enthusiasm of Perth’s finest young singers with
exquisite musicianship and attention to detail. Their stylish performances have been
delighting audiences and critics alike since 1995.
In the 20 years since The Giovanni Consort was founded the group has become renowned for its exquisite, high-quality performances of unaccompanied choral music ranging from the medieval period to the present day. In this, our 20th anniversary year, we pride ourselves on presenting diverse musical programs that engage everyone.
The Consort is based around a core group of 10 singers, the exact number depending on the demands of the repertoire. Our singers have extensive musical backgrounds, with most having studied (or are still studying) music at a tertiary level. Our number includes violinists, pianists and other instrumentalists in addition to trained singers, many of whom can be found performing with the West Australian Opera, Perth’s cathedral choirs and other professional engagements.
